Cognitive Remediation & Intervention Services Program
Cognitive Remediation & Intervention Services Program (CRISP) is an in-home intervention program for children (ages 6-18) with academic learning difficulties due to disorders such as dyslexia, language disorders, and ADHD. Under the supervision of Dr. Turnbull, CRISP Providers implement remedial programs and conduct individualized exercises that are selected and modified according to each child's profile of strength and weakness. CRISP sessions occur 3-5 times per week for 60 or 90 minute sessions (depending on need and age).
To qualify for CRISP, the child must have had a neuropsychological assessment within the last 3 years (psychoeducational evaluations may be sufficient).

What to Expect
- Dr. Turnbull will review the records and responses you provide (usually 30 to 60 minutes) within two business days.
- If your child is an appropriate candidate for CRISP services, she will develop an initial treatment program tailored to your child's needs and situation.
- Dr. Turnbull or her office manager, Laura Cavanaugh, will let you know what resources/materials will be needed for the intervention and, when applicable, how to obtain them.
- At this point, you will also receive a password to unlock the contact information and resumes of each of the CRISP Providers below (a position description is also available for parents who choose to find a provider on their own).
- Once you have hired a CRISP Provider and obtained the necessary resources, Dr. Turnbull will train your Provider (usually 60 min) and set up a supervision schedule for ongoing training and adjustment of the treatment plan as needed (initially 60 min per week, then usually 30 minutes per week or 60 minutes per 2 weeks).
- Providers may also generate brief monthly progress reports as needed to keep everyone informed of intervention strategies and progress toward goals.
- Beginning with the record review, you will receive a monthly invoice at Dr. Turnbull's consultation rate.
